Judges Dinner
After the trial on Saturday, why not join us for dinner? We will be holding a barbeque at our club grounds, Penn Ohio Working Dog Club. Menu will be ¼ chicken, salad, sides, coffee, tea, pop and beer for $15.00. We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible for this fun and relaxing evening.
We only have a limited amount of meal tickets so please email if you would like to reserve your spot. Tickets will also be sold at the concession stand each day.
Directions to our club house. From Howard Johnsons, turn right out of the parking lot on Route l9 North. Follow l9 through Mercer. In Mercer, Route 58 runs with Rt. l9. Stay on Rt. 58 West. At the light, l9 goes to the right, 58 to the left. Stay to the left. Follow Rt. 58 for about 10 miles. Eckley's TV and Appliance is on the right . Turn left on Kidds Mill Road. If you get to the Citgo, you went to far. We are about l.3 miles on your left.
From Cianci's, turn right out of the parking lot. After the Citgo, take the first road to the right(Kidds Mill Road) We are about l.3 miles on your left.
Tracking
The tracking will be done in timothy hay fields located about 15 miles from the trial site. The fields were cut on Monday and Tuesday June 6th and 7th. That allows for 2 1/2 for new growth and if we receive our normal rainfall for this time of year, the fields should be green and about mid-calf high. We are hoping for very nice conditions. The articles will be normal size and will be carpet, leather, and wood.
Stadium
The stadium work will be done at a soccer / softball facility located in Greenville, Pa. on route 58. The complex is spacious and can accommodate parking for 350 cars. Please note THERE IS NO SHADE! Please plan accordingly. There will be parking sectioned off for competitors located in close proximity to the trial fields. The wall and hurdle will be placed front to back of each other as opposed to side by side and the spectators will be to the handlers left as he /she starts the obedience exercises. There will also be a soccer goal at each end of the field as these are permanent and cannot be removed. The netting will be taken down. The protection phase will start from the opposite end of the field, with the spectators now to the right of the handler. The blinds will be red cloth, and will start to the left. There will also be a small amount of bleacher seating available.
Directions to the Stadium: From Ohio and West, follow 80 East to Pennsylvania. The first exits are 4A and 4B. Take 4B (60 North / l8 North) You want to keep following the l8 North signs. Follow l8 North for about 14 miles to Greenville. The road narrows to 2 way traffic. At the first traffic light after it goes to 2 way traffic, this is Rt. 358 and Rt. l8 North. Keep following l8 North through Greenville. At the light by Sheetz, (3rd light) turn left. You are still on l8 North. Follow this to the light by Thiel College. l8 North goes to the right, but you need to stay straight through the light on Route 58 West. The soccer fields will be in about 3/4 mile on the left. Turn left by the one room school house and right into the parking lot.
Directions from Pittsburgh and South: Follow 79 North to 80 West. Get off at exit l5. This is Route l9 North. Follow l9 North through Mercer. At the light on the other side of Mercer, Rt. l9 goes to the right and Route 58 goes to the left. Follow 58 to the left. Continue about 14 miles to Greenville. Turn right on our Main Street. (Route 358 and Route 58) Turn left at the Sheetz. (Route 58) Continue following 58 for about l.4 miles and the soccer fields will be on your left. Turn left by the one room school house and right into the parking lot.
