Bob Adams
My name is Bob Adams and I am one of the founding members of Penn Ohio Working Dog Club. I got my first German shepherd dog in 1976 and fell in love with the breed. I joined a schutzhund club in 1991, and I was given an opportunity to begin to learn about doing helper work. I was lucky enough to travel to Germany to look for and acquire my first schutzhund dog. This first dog taught me so much and he was a very special dog. I was able to show him a couple times in the nationals, and together we won our share of trials, but the best part of our partnership was that he defined for me what a great German shepherd dog should be. I have been looking for a dog like him ever since. I started Penn Ohio Working Dog Club in August of 2000 and have enjoyed helping others achieve personal goals as well as the wonderful friendships we have made along the way. I breed German shepherd dogs under the Kennel name “vom Haus Mariacher” and my goal is to breed dogs with my kennel name in 4 generations. My goals as a dog trainer is simply to learn as much as I can about canine behavior and to help others appreciate how much fun training and spending time with their dogs can be. I was fortunate along the way to be exposed to people successful trialing their dogs from whom I learned a great deal. I feel it’s my turn to help others in the same manner. I am currently training a female Enchi vom Karlmitblick and hope to compete with her at the nationals and will start a new male puppy soon.
