Lee and Cassie

2007 was a busy year filled with challenges and rewards. In
February 2007, Cassie was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic
Insufficiency. EPI, is a very serious, but manageable disease
that is genetic in GSD. Cassie responded well to treatment and was
able to continue training. In May we earned our Sch I. It was
the single most greatest achievement of my life. We had momentum
and earned our SCH II in July. That was a hot, happy day! I
was hoping to get sucked along in the draft of Kathy and Mary Lou and
squeak thru a Sch III in Oct. We failed tracking at the October
trial. I made a new handler mistake by over training my dog.
Cassie scored very well in OB and Protection, so it was a very
satisfying day. Funny, the trial we failed was the most
fulfilling one of all. We will try again in June!!
